“Communication from time of booking until being picked up by bus was first rate. After that it felt for the most part that we had a driver but no guide. We received a n informative 5 minute spiel about monkeys and some excitement when watching fireflies but instruction and information otherwise. Feeding macaques so that they reliably turned up, to the point that they wandered amongst us on the boat felt like a practice we grew out of in the 1980's, understanding that it is not healthy and can lead to aggressive behaviour if not fed as expected. Not much effort went into finding proboscis monkeys... we returned to dinner…”
